  1. Color Theory

    Color Theory

Inspiration comes in many shapes and forms, and often can be found right under your nose. We were in the process of adding to our line of candles. A line that has been established for the past few years, full of bright colors and different flavors. The packaging is very colorful, a departure from our core business (skincare, body care, hair care-primarily white packaging).

Getting the scent right is the hardest part, and then hours of testing to see how it burns usually has everyone in the office weighing in. When it came time to pick a color for the outer box, we had a few ideas. When one thinks of leather, what comes to mind? Accessories: belts, bags, jackets, wallets, shoes! We presented

    Face Time with Maira Kalman.

If you live in New York, or read the New Yorker, or love dogs, or love learning about things in a humorous, unintimidating way, you know Maira Kalman. If you don’t...YOU’RE KIDDING US, RIGHT?

Our love and admiration for Maira Kalman is equally weighed by our awe of her immense talent and her huge heart. She’s written enough books to fill a shelf, including “What Pete Ate A-Z,” “Food Rules” and “The Elements of Style, Illustrated,” and her art exhibit “Sara Berman’s Closet” can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She is currently collaborating

Face Time: Matthew Malin + Andrew Goetz.

by: Jane Larkworthy, Editor at Large.

Malin + Goetz is not a Scandinavian architecture firm.

Nor is it an Austrian opera, or a German term used for teaching your new puppy how to fetch. Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz are two guys who created a brand to give you better skin, make you smell better and add a chic upgrade to your bathroom.

What began in 2004 as a minimalist boutique in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood that offered gentle products for people with sensitive skin has expanded to an internationally recognized and trusted name currently sold in 21 countries. As the brand is about to turn thirteen and open its ninth store (in New York’s Nolita), we posed
